The mission of the Chelsea Area Friends for Recreation is to enhance and support recreational and cultural opportunities for people of all ages in the greater Chelsea community.
The Chelsea Area Friends for Recreation (CAFR) purpose is to create the following for the Chelsea, Michigan community.

Recreation that inspires and promotes personal growth, healthy lifestyles and a sense of community.

Attractive, safe, affordable, and well maintained places to play, gather, learn and recreate.

Dynamic parks and recreational facilities that fulfill the diverse needs of the community.
